Hi! I'm Iffat Khan and my philosophy and beliefs on education are based on Essentialism and Progressivism. Essentialism is grounded in a conservative philosophy that accepts the social, political, and economic structure of any society. While, progressivism has a respect for individuality, with the belief that people learn better through active interplay with others.
I believe children are seeds a facilitator nurtures, keeping in mind each learner is unique and can bring something special and exceptional to the world. If they are provided with a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially they will share their ideas and be willing to take risks.
Through experience I have learnt that there are five essential elements which are conducive to learning.
1. The teacher must act as a guide.
2.  Learners must get a chance to practice hands-on activities.
3. Learners must be given choice and they should be allowed to let their curiosity direct their learning.
4. Learners must be able to practice their skills in a comfortable safe and secure environment.
5. Technology must be incorporated into the school day.
Teaching is an important and honourable occupation that demands commitment and dedication. We have the opportunity to touch souls and impact the lives of future generations. This is a huge privilege that cannot be taken lightly.
